Akwa Ibom State Poly HND Courses and Entry Requirement.

1. School of applied sciences:

Higher National Diploma in:

• Computer Science.

• Statistics.

• Science Lab Technology with options in:

• Chemistry.

• Biochemistry.

• Physics with electronics.
  Microbiology.

• Environmental Biology.

(1a) The entry requirement into the HND in Computer Sc, Statistics and Sc Lab TECHN is at least a Lower Credit pass at the Tech level.

• Gotten from an NBTE-accredited Computer Science, Statistics and Science Laboratory Technology Programme respectively.

• Candidates must have satisfied the minimum requirements into the ND Programme in Computer Sc, Statistics and Sc Lab tech respectively.

• And completed the one year post-ND Industrial work experience.

(1b) Aspirants with pass levels in ND in Statistics, Computer Sc or Sc Lab Tech.

• Obtained from an NBTE-accredited Programme and who would produce evidence of at least 2yrs post-ND industrial work experience, may also apply.

2. School of business mgt and studies:
National Diploma in:

• Accountancy.

• Business Admin.

• Office Technology and Management.

(2a) The entry requirement into the HND in Accountancy, Bus Admin and Office Tech and Mgt is at least a Lower Credit Pass at the ND level.

• Acquired from an NBTE-accredited Accountancy, Bus Admin and Office Tech and Mgt Programmes respectively.

• Applicants must have satisfied the minimum requirements into the National Diploma Programme in Accountancy, Bus Admin and Office Tech and Mgt respectively.

• Also completed the 1yr post-ND industrial work experience.

(2b) Candidates with Pass levels in ND in Accountancy, Bus Admin Office Tech & Mgt.

• Then who would produce evidence of at least 2yrs post-ND industrial work experience, may also apply.

3. School of communication arts:
(Higher National Diploma in):

• Mass Communication.

(3a) The requirement into the HND in Mass Communication is at least a Lower Credit Pass in ND in Mass Communication.

• Obtained from an NBTE- accredited Mass communication programme.

• Aspirants must have satisfied the minimum requirements into the ND Programme in Mass Communication.

• Thereafter completed the 1yr post-ND industrial work experience.

(3b) Applicants with Pass levels in ND in Mass Com and who would produce evidence of at least 2yrs post-ND industrial work experience may also apply.

4. School of Engr:
Higher National Diploma in:

• Electrical/Electronics Engineering with option in:

• Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering.

(4a) The admission requirement into the HND in Electrical/Electronics Engr in at least ND at Lower Credit level.

• Acquired from an NBTE-accredited Electrical/ Electronics Engineering Programme.

• The Candidates must have also satisfied the minimum requirements into the ND Programme in Electrical/ Electronics Engr and finished the 1yr Industrial Work Experience Scheme.

(4b) All Candidates with Pass levels in ND in Electrical/ Electronics Engr and who have had at least 2yrs post-ND industrial work experience may also apply.

5. School of environmental studies:
*Higher National Diploma in*:

• Architectural Technology.

• Building Technology.

• Estate Management and Valuation.

• Quantity Surveying.

• Urban and Regional Planning.

(5a) Needed requirement into the HND in Architectural Techn, Building Tech, Estate Mgt and Valuation, Qty Surveying.

• In addition Urban regional Planning is at least a ND at Lower Credit level.

• That was gotten from an NBTE-accredited Architectural Tech, Building Tech, Estate Mgt and Valuation, Qty Surveying and Urban and Regional Planning Programmes respectively.

• Candidates must have satisfied the minimum requirements into the ND Programme.

• In Architectural Tech, Building Tech, Estate Mgt and Valuation, Qty Surveying or Urban and Regional Planning and completed the 1yr Industrial Work Experience Scheme.

(5b) Those Candidates with Pass level in ND in Architectural Tech, Building Tech, Estate Mgt and Valuation, Qty Surveying or Urban and Regional Planning.

• And who have had at least 2yrs post-ND industrial work experience may also apply.

N/B:

Those students who graduated with ND in Marketing, Banking & Finance and Public Admin can also apply for admission into HND in Accountancy and Bus Admin.

How to Obtain Akwa Ibom State Poly HND Form.

• Candidates should visit the School’s website http://www.akwaibompoly.edu.ng.

• Click online Application, then generate an invoice with the following details:

i. Phone number.
ii. Name.

• All Candidates should go to any Commercial Bank in Nigeria with their invoice(RRR Number).

• Then purchase an electronic PIN and make payment of N8,000 and obtain a PIN. (Inclusive Of Bank And Other Charges).

• Application should be completed by visiting http://www.akwaibompoly.edu.ng with the acquired pin to complete the application with the following steps:

• Highlight “Admissions” and select “Application Forms” then select your choice of programme and insert the obtained PIN.

• (Confirmation Order) in the appropriate form to complete the application.

• Attach 1 year Industrial Attachment Letter.

• Official ND Transcript to be sent to the Registrar.

Aptitude test:

• There shall be no physical Aptitude Testing. The mode of Aptitude Test shall be based on a dedicated calibrated format.
