In the year 2019, the private Institution located in Nigeria (Convenant University) ranked in Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Ranking in 151-200.
The recent release of the new ranking in 2023 which held at the Young Universities Submit indicates that the University had leaped forward, placing her in 101-150 ranking.
The world’s best universities that are 59 years older or younger are listed by the Times Higher Education (THE) Young Rankings.
Nigerian Convenant University featured in the Young University Rankings.
Featuring over 400 universities from 66 countries, the ranking was made based on some vital data collected from the universities, reputation data and blibliometric.
This recent update about Convenant University being the only Nigerian Institution to be featured in the 2023 Times Higher Education (THE) Young Universities Ranking (YUR) has certified her pre-eminent position as the West African and Nigerian’s best University.
Its of no news that Convenant University since the year 2019 has been featured in various rankings across the globe such as African Rankings, Subject Rankings and the Economic Rankings.
It’s should be noted that Convenant University ranked 601 from the previous 800 in the World University Ranking, exactly nine months before the recent development in Times Higher Education.
Also it was brought to our notice that a total number of 23 African Universities were featured in the list including the South African University (Kwazulu Natal) that was placed in No.71 of the 2023 THE’s list while Covenant University and Aswan University, Egypt are joint by being ranked in the same 101-150 bracket.
Nevertheless Egypt with a total number of ten universities, dominated the African list. Also institutions from other parts of Africa like Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Kenya, and South Africa where also in the list.
During the submit, The Head, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Coursera, Anthony Tattersall, stated in his presentation that Covenant University has become the first Higher Education Institution in Africa to partner with the worldwide learning platform for full blended learning and the benefits it offers.
Tattersall said:
Covenant University is one of the leading young universities in the world, highly ranked from a leading world standard, focused on education outcomes, and a great beacon of light for the continent (Africa).
Hong Kong University of Science and Technology was noted to be on the top again after emerging the best in the year 2019. École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne of Switzerland; the Nanyang Technological University of France made second, third and fourth place respectively, while the City University of Hong Kong was ranked fifth.
