Caps is a new system brought by jamb to make admission process easier and simple. and also for candidate to be able to do things on their own, things like accepting/rejecting of admission offer, checking their admission status.

What Are The Uses Of Jamb Caps?

Jamb caps can now be use for many things, that’s why it is called jamb central admission processing system.

• Candidates become aware of available spaces in Universities and Universities are aware of available students.

How To Check 2023 Jamb Admission Status on caps

To check admission status on jamb caps is very simple. All you have have to do is to follow the guides. i will advice you, if your checking your admission status with mobile phone, use chrome  and make sure you turn on desktop site.

JAMB Admission status – how to accept and reject

This is exactly the same step with checking admission status. The only thing that remains is for you to locate and click on the ‘Search‘ button in front of your JAMB Registration Number to load your profile.

After that you can now accept/reject your admission offer under ‘Admission Profile’.

1. Go to Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) portal at http://www.jamb.org.ng/efacility/.
2. Login with your registered Email and Password.
3. Then locate and click on ‘Check 2023 UTME/DE Admission Status on CAPS‘.
4. Select ‘Admission Status‘ on the left panel.
5. Locate and click on the ‘Search‘ button in front of your JAMB Registration Number to load your profile.
6. You can now accept/reject your admission offer under ‘Admission Profile’.

What is Jamb Caps Market Place

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) is geared towards ensuring quality control, transparency and credibility of the admission process.

CAPS is expected to make provision for a ‘market place’ in the JAMB portal where institutions can go and ‘request for students in Nigeria who score their cut off points.’

The system is such that institutions can only admit those who meet their cut off points. If a candidate fails to meet the cut off mark, that student would certainly be denied admission irrespective of the candidate’s connection.

The List of Candidates selected from the Market Place are then pushed to JAMB who then notify the Candidates of Market Place consideration by Institutions. Candidate may Accept / Reject Market Place consideration, subject to a maximum of three (3) Market Place considerations at a time.

Benefit Of Caps Market Place 

The Candidates could also approach the Market Place to announce availability for Admission consideration from any institution or for any programme different from those earlier indicated during the UTME Registration, provided s/he has requisite O’ Level Results and wrote the required subject combination in the UTME.

Any agreement or understanding on Admission consideration between the Institution and candidate based on Market Place operations will have to be effected with a requirement for the Candidate to effect a Change of Institution on the JAMB Portal to be available for Download (Step 6 above) by the new Institution to follow the subsequent steps in the Admission Process.

What Is The Meaning Of ‘Not Admitted’ In Caps

Not Admitted can mean two different thing.

1.  that your school of choice has not sent or proposed any list of admitted candidates to JAMB.
2.  that your school has sent in the list of admitted candidates but you have not been considered for admission.

i will advice you not to panic if you see not admitted in your dashboard, instead ask question to know what it really mean.

In Caps What is the meaning of ‘Admission In Progress’? 

It means that you have met the requirements to be admitted in your school of choice, but for certain reasons like Admission Quota and other admission criteria of your school of choice, your admission is still pending.

Candidates in this category may be offered admission later if other candidates offered admission by the school decides to reject their admission thereby creating room for more admission slots.

What about RECOMMENDED Jamb Caps

It means that you have been considered for admission but your admission is still under review to ensure you meet all admission criteria set by your institution and JAMB.
