Northern Lights College is a British Columbia public educational institution and as such, the quality of teaching and curriculum are ensured by British Columbia’s world-class higher education system.  

The institution offers official qualifications through certificates, diplomas and associate degrees that are recognized by employers and institutions of higher education throughout Canada.  

Upon graduation, students are ready to enter the Canadian workforce, while others may choose to continue their studies and access, through transfer, the third year of undergraduate studies at a university.

Class sizes at Northern Lights College are small, which means that the education provided to each student is more personal, allowing more time to ask questions and interact with teachers.  

Any student who faces any kind of problem with her classes can receive help through the Learning Support Specialists service and can access individual tutorials and additional workshops.

Northern Lights College Affordability and Tuition 

The average tuition fee for students pursuing their undergraduate degree programs is CAD $3,500. Meanwhile, that of the postgraduate students is CAD $3,130.

Additionally, the cost of vocational education is CAD $2,200. Also, the estimated cost of living per year for a single student is CAD $11,000.

Northern Lights College Admission Requirements

To be admitted to Northern Lights College, students must meet the admission requirements of the program they have chosen.  

As academic programs range from specific preparatory courses and apprenticeships to certificates and diplomas, admission requirements vary depending on the program they wish to pursue.  

Some require basic levels of English and mathematics, while others must have completed courses with a specific qualification.

Note that all study programs are taught in English so a proof of English proficiency must be presented.  International students must have an overall IELTS score of 6.0 in most courses.  Some trade programs accept an overall score of 5.5.  

Other approved English tests are;  TOEFL iBT, CAEL, Pearson test of English, and Duolingo English test.  Prospective students should consult the college as test scores vary depending on the program they wish to take.

International students who do not have a proof of English proficiency but wish to study at Northern Lights College can do so by enrolling in the English as a Second Language program.  Many academic or vocational programs have an access route (ESL pathway) that allows admission under the modality of conditional admission.
