Trinity College students reside in a small community in the heart of the state capital. The school is in Hartford, Connecticut, a big city where students may do everything from seeing concerts at the Comcast and Webster theatres to learning how to fire a Revolutionary War cannon at the Old State House. Students who attend school in the state capital have access to hundreds of internship opportunities at various organisations across the city. First-year students must live on campus and live and study alongside other students in their First-Year Program.
Outside of class, students can join one of more than 100 clubs and organisations. On-campus, there are a few Greek groups. Trinity’s athletic teams play in the NCAA Division III New England Small College Athletic Conference and are supported by the school mascot, a bantam rooster. Don’t be perplexed when looking for a college: Trinity College is a typical moniker for religious colleges; this liberal arts college is nondenominational.
Trinity University maintains a campus in Rome, Italy, and its main campus in Hartford. During their undergraduate years, more than half of Trinity students study abroad. In addition, Trinity operates a field station in Ashford, Connecticut, where students and professors do research in the natural and environmental sciences. Jim Murren, head of MGM Resorts, journalist Tucker Carlson, and columnist and Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist George Will are among the college’s prominent graduates.
