FAQs

Will I be able to transfer all of my credits?

UK accepts up to 67 hours of college-level credit from two-year colleges and an unlimited number of college-level credits from four-year colleges. Yes, indeed! With the guidance of an equivalency officer, your credits will be processed and matched to UK courses. Your transfer advisor can assist you in determining how those credits would apply to your intended degree or which degree would best utilize your prior experience.

Are dual-credit courses accepted?

Dual credit from authorized higher-learning institutions is accepted in the United Kingdom. If you received college credit in high school, the college or institution must produce a transcript so that it can be added to your UK record. Only a high school transcript will be recognized for dual-credit coursework.

Is it possible for me to take dual-credit courses in the United Kingdom?

High school students in the United Kingdom have few possibilities to gain UK credit as part of their high school homework (most of these opportunities are available in high schools that are part of our Next Generation Scholars Network). A transfer advisor, on the other hand, can assist dual-credit students in determining whether classes from other universities will transfer to UK as compulsory coursework.

How can I know how my credits will be transferred to the United Kingdom?

You can check your transfer credits in one of two ways: your myUK GPS degree audit or your UK unofficial transcript, both of which are accessible via myUK.

  • Click the Student Services page in myUK, then the Degree Planning and Registration (myUKGPS) subtab to access your degree audit. This diagram illustrates how your prior coursework relates to your UK major. At your Big Blue Nation Orientation, you’ll also register for classes in this system.
  • Click the Student Services tab in myUK, then the myRecords subtab, and the Unofficial Transcript link in the sidebar to obtain your unofficial transcript. This view shows you how your credits are transferred line by line.

How long will it take for my equivalent courses to appear in my student records in the United Kingdom?

It would most likely take two weeks for your transfer coursework to be put to your student record after you receive your acceptance packet in the mail. Our office processes transfer coursework in the order in which it is received, so just because it isn’t on your unofficial transcript in the UK doesn’t mean it won’t transfer. Rather, we haven’t had the opportunity to process it yet!
