- Essay: An essay or personal statement is only recommended of some for admission consideration.
- Application Fee: A $50 nonrefundable application fee is required of transfer applicants.
- Interview: An interview is not required for admission consideration.
- Other Requirements: If you are a transfer applicant for architecture or interior architecture, you must submit your SAT Reasoning Test or ACT scores regardless of class level.

How will my application to the University of Oregon be evaluated?
Your admission will be based on your high school and college work if you have completed 35 or fewer transferable quarter credits (23-semester credits). Both freshmen and transfer students must meet entrance standards. If you have 36 or more quarter credits (at least 24 of which must be evaluated), you will be admitted solely based on your college-level coursework.
If you meet the minimum admission requirements, we’ll look at other factors like whether you have an AAOT or ASOT in business from an Oregon community college (or an associate’s degree from select Washington community colleges), which of your completed courses meet university graduation requirements, your GPA, and your grade trend over time. Academic potential and unique abilities are also taken into account.
What if I have a bachelor’s degree in AAOT?
You will have met the writing and fields of inquiry elements of the university’s core education requirements if you transfer to the UO with an AAOT or ASOT in business.
The University of Oregon recognises all accredited Oregon community colleges. To meet the university’s lower-division areas of inquiry requirements, the University of Oregon accepts authorised associate degrees from select Washington community colleges.
Is an essay, a personal statement, or letters of reference required by the University of Oregon?
For transfer students, these are not required. However, when exceptional circumstances involve your academic record or if the material offers significant information not contained on regular transcripts, such material can be valuable.
Please provide a personal essay detailing how exceptional circumstances, such as a verified disability, significant sickness, or other mitigating circumstances, impacted your high school or college achievement. Is there a need for an interview or a campus visit?

Will credits earned at other colleges be accepted at the University of Oregon?
Only regionally authorised two- or four-year institutions or universities can submit college-level academic course work to the University of Oregon. Individual credits from universities outside the United States will be evaluated. We accept Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), and various types of credit by examination is conducted by another college. Is there a limit to how many credits from another university the University of Oregon will accept?
A four-year college or university with regional accreditation can transfer unlimited credits.
A bachelor’s degree can be completed with 124 credits from an authorised community or junior college. Credits obtained at a community or junior college transfer as lower-division credits and cannot be utilised to meet upper-division graduation requirements at the University of Oregon. We will accept all of your coursework but not the credits if you have more than 124 credits.
You can transfer up to 12 credits in vocational, technical, physical education, and music performance courses and up to 48 credits in professional courses like veterinary medicine or nursing.
If I switch from a semester to a quarter system, will I lose credits?
No, each semester credit is worth 1.5 quarter credits. (For the number of quarter credits, multiply the semester credits by 1.5.) Students who transfer from a semester-based institution will not lose credits; the credits will be expressed differently. A quarter course is roughly similar to a semester course. Two-semester courses taken consecutively may occasionally equal three-quarter courses.
Will my transfer work satisfy any of the University of Oregon’s requirements?

What are the fundamental educational requirements?
Expository writing, mathematics, a foreign language, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and multicultural studies are core education requirements. To receive a bachelor of arts (BA) or a bachelor of science (BS) degree, you must meet the University of Oregon Undergraduate and Graduate Catalog’s core education requirements.
When will an official appraisal of my transfer credits be sent to me?
As long as your application for admission is on file, the Office of the Registrar evaluates your transfer credits as they come. Each time your transfer work is examined, the Office of the Registrar will send you an email. Select “Admissions Menu” and then “View Transfer Evaluation Report” on the Duck web online system to see your transfer credits and course equivalents. Will having an associate of Arts Oregon Transfer (AAOT) or associate of science Oregon Transfer (ASOT) in the business help me get into college as a transfer student?
Yes. Furthermore, you will have completed your writing and areas of inquiry requirements before arriving at the UO as part of the AA-Oregon Transfer Agreement. For more information, contact your college counsellor. Students with an AA, AS, or AAS degree from a community college are exempt from this agreement. Before enrolling at the University of Oregon, you must finish the AAOT or ASOT.
How will the University of Oregon calculate my GPA from another school?
When calculating your GPA for admission, we will include all attempted credits for which you received an A, B, C, D, or F, or repeated courses. Incompletes and withdrawals are not taken into account when calculating the transfer GPA.
Will the University of Oregon accept transfer credits for a D-graded course?
The University of Oregon will accept D-graded transferrable courses. Please note that practices are taken tare takenplete core education requirements in writing, mathematics, and a second language must have a minimum grade of C-. For transfer acceptance, one college-level writing course and one college-level mathematics course are required.
Will P/N (pass/no pass) or S/U (satisfactory/unsatisfactory) graded courses transfer, and may they are utilised to complete requirements?
We accept P or S grades for transferrable courses. We recommend that you take no more than 12 credits of P or S work at your transfer school because the UO demands letter grades for most of your work (A, B, C, or D). According to our recommendations, all courses in your planned significant and English composition, mathematics, and second languages should be taken for a letter grade. If your school only gives P/N or S/U qualities, you should contact the University of Oregon’s Office of Admissions.
